Cape York Expedition

Travel from Cairns north through the inland to tropical Cape York and Thursday Island. We'll take the Bloomfield Track to Cooktown, where you will see the wet tropical forest literally meet the reef at the edge of the ocean. Visit the rock art in the Quinkan region - considered by UNESCO to be among the world's top 10 prehistoric rock art areas. Following the Overland Telegraph Line north, we overnight in Coen and Moreton, before reaching our stay at Punsand Bay, on 10 kilometres of beachfront. A short drive and some walking places you at the tip of Cape York - the northern most point of the Australian continent. We take the ferry to Thursday Island for a guided tour and overnight stay. Another ferry to Horn Island for a short tour before boarding your flight back to Cairns. (flight own cost).
