This tour takes us away from the crowds and follows routes through varied ecosystems along back roads, emphasising and visiting rugged escarpment and gorge country and its associated flora and fauna. Areas visited include Goulburn River National Park, the Warrumbungles, Mt Kaputar National Park, Carnarvon Gorge, Lonesome National Park, Porcupine Gorge, White Mountain National Park, Cobbold Gorge and the Atherton Tablelands.
