Travel through regions of amazing contrast from farming and mining country towns to northern Australia's most magnificent wilderness areas. Two nights in Carnarvon Gorge to allow for plenty of walking opportunities. Overnight stays in Mt Isa and Winton with visits to the Riversleigh Fossil Fields and the Lark Quarry Dinosaur tracks. A tea stop at the Combo Waterholes (the Waltzing Matilda waterhole). Take a paddle in Lawn Hill Gorge before hitting the Savannah Way across the Gulf. Head to Caranbirini National Park to the Lost City sandstone columns. Soak in the hot springs at Mataranka, and explore Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine). On to Kakadu National Park, visiting Nourlangie Rock and cruising on the famous Yellow Waters Billabong. Your tour ends in Darwin.
